Heavenly Father
Glorious creator
Foundation of our existence
Only you are holy
Only you are worthy of all glory
Thank you for your indescribable gift
Jesus Christ our redeemer.
O Lord God Almighty,
Author of my salvation
I tremble before your judgment.
Have mercy upon me, O God,

As I journey through life without pausing,
I hear a voice calling out faintly,
Softly Intruding upon my living,
Offering a challenge to any listening,
“Take up your cross and follow me”

In my mind, stark visions appearing,
Of One who is much more than me.
My redemption bought by his suffering,
As he looks down into my soul calling,
“Take up your cross and follow me”

Softly echoing in my thoughts every day.
Unveiling my eyes that I might see.
Should I answer, or try to run away?
With loving patience he continues to say,
“Take up your cross and follow me”

O my Lord and my God I pray,
With your grace may I be born anew.
Please reshape me like the potter’s clay.
That I may hear you and joyously obey
And take up my cross and follow you.

Two roads before me
Each flowing to a different destiny.
Paths in a world of darkness and light
Which is wrong and which is right?

Two roads before me arising
How to select with two voices enticing?
I gaze down each, bound by uncertainty
Past choices limiting my clarity.

Shackled by earthly knowledge and senses
As well as by my arrogant pretenses.
Hear my cry O God, For to you I lift up my soul.
Please teach me the way I should go.

O my God please pour your spirit upon me
Open my eyes that I may see.
O send out your truth and your mercy give
Lead me to the path that I might live.

Two roads before me
One earthly.
One divine
Almighty God, let your will be mine.
