Tender God, bless mothers in the visible and hidden work of their lives. Give them rest when they are weary, companionship when they feel alone, and confidence that they are loved beyond what they accomplish. Support mothers caring for sick children, those separated from their families, and those grieving loss. Remember adoptive mothers, foster mothers and all who offer maternal care. Help us honour them through practical help, respectful listening and a fair sharing of responsibility. Grant what is truly good, and help me cooperate with your grace through wise and loving action. Keep me close to Jesus in hope and patience. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
