About this prayer
The first part of the Hail Mary recalls Gabriel’s greeting and Elizabeth’s blessing in Luke’s Gospel. The second asks Mary, the Mother of God, to pray for us now and at the hour of death. This prayer forms the heart of each Rosary decade.
