Loving Father, bless husbands with hearts that are faithful, gentle and courageous. Help them listen to their wives with respect and share the practical and emotional work of family life. Free them from pride, controlling behaviour and fear of asking for help. Give them integrity in work, tenderness in affection and patience in disagreement. Strengthen those caring for an ill spouse, facing unemployment or carrying grief, and surround them with wise and supportive friendships. Grant what is truly good, and help me cooperate with your grace through wise and loving action. Keep me close to Jesus in hope and patience. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
