About this novena

This is an original nine-day devotional adaptation written for Prayers & Reflections, not an official liturgical text or a reproduction of a particular shrine’s novena. Each day offers a distinct intention and a practical response of faith. Novenas invite persevering prayer and do not guarantee a particular result.

The guided companion follows the St. Vincent novena’s six sections. The nine-day Scripture cycle follows the St. Vincent companion. Scripture, reflection, intentions and thanksgiving are companion additions; the devotional prayer text is preserved. Scripture readings use the public-domain Douay-Rheims Bible. Added community prayers and reflections are original devotional texts.

How to pray this novena

Mangidaulo iti kararag

Pray the opening prayer, the prayer for the appropriate day, and the closing prayer on each of nine days. Name your intention in silence. These original devotional prayers may be prayed individually or together.

Opening prayer

Amin

God of mercy, gather us in your presence as we begin this novena. We bring you our intention, our gratitude, and the needs of those who cannot find words to pray. Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Open our hearts to prayer, conversion, and peace. Help us to receive your answer with trust and to put our faith into action. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Day 1 · Prayer
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Awaken in us a steady desire to pray for the world and its many wounds. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Help us make a faithful place for prayer within today's ordinary duties. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 2 · Conversion
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Ask your Son to reveal the attitudes that keep us from loving God and neighbour. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Give us courage to turn from one harmful habit and seek reconciliation. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 3 · Peace
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Intercede for families and nations suffering the consequences of violence and hostility. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Teach us to reject hateful speech and practice peace where we have influence. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 4 · The Rosary
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Help us contemplate the life of Jesus with attention rather than merely repeating words. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Lead us to pray one decade slowly for someone who needs hope. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 5 · Sacrifice
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Teach us to offer freely chosen acts of generosity without neglecting necessary care. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Help us give up a needless comfort so that another person's need is met. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 6 · Those far from faith
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Remember those wounded by religious indifference, scandal, or rejection within a community. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Make us humble witnesses who listen, repent, and welcome without coercion. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 7 · Families
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Bring before Christ the daily concerns of children, parents, elders, and those living alone. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Help us strengthen bonds through a kind conversation and dependable practical care. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 8 · Mercy
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Ask Jesus to make us attentive to the spiritual and material needs of others. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Show us a person whom we can encourage without judgment or pressure. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Day 9 · Faithful hope
Amin

Our Lady of Fatima, lead us to Jesus. Receive our intention and pray that our devotion may endure beyond these nine days. We place before God the intention we carry through these nine days, remembering also those whose burdens are hidden from us. Help us continue a simple rhythm of prayer, repentance, and works of peace. Give us patience when answers come slowly and courage to follow Christ in the ordinary duties of today. May our prayer bear fruit in faithful love. Amen.

Closing prayer

Amin

Heavenly Father, receive the prayers we have offered today. Let prayer, conversion, and peace take root in our daily choices. Give help to those in distress, wisdom to those who care for them, and hope to those who feel forgotten. We entrust our intention to your loving providence without demanding a particular outcome. Keep us faithful to Jesus and generous toward our neighbour. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mangidaulo iti kararag

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Amin

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Mangidaulo iti kararag

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Amin

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Prayers and Reflections strives to provide faithful and accurate Catholic prayers and devotional materials in different Philippine languages.

Some prayer texts are obtained from existing Catholic websites and devotional sources. While these sources are selected with care, not all translations have documented ecclesiastical approval or have undergone independent theological and linguistic verification.

Some translations may therefore contain unintentional differences, variations in wording, or inaccuracies.

Our translation verification and improvement process is ongoing. We welcome corrections and suggestions from clergy, Catholic scholars, and knowledgeable native speakers.

The inclusion of a prayer does not imply official approval by the Catholic Church unless such approval is expressly identified and verified.
