Lord Jesus, shelter those I love and all who face danger today. Protect people from violence, exploitation and preventable harm. Give us good judgment to recognize unsafe situations, courage to seek help, and neighbours who respond when we call. Guard my words from cruelty and my actions from carelessness. Strengthen those whose work is to keep others safe, and teach me to take responsible steps for the protection of children and vulnerable people. Grant what is truly good, and help me cooperate with your grace through wise and loving action. Keep me close to Jesus in hope and patience. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
